Getting away from Mako…
I hate what they’re doing to Bolin.
Bolin would care just as much as Mako, would be just as worried, he wouldn’t hang around throwing jokes. I’m really just angry for Bolin, because he’s gotten the ultimate shaft in favor for Makorra.
And I’m not happy.
I feel like both Asami and Bolin are getting the shaft here for Makorra. Asami’s being pretty much ignored because Mako can’t contain his ~feelings~. Which, ya know, is fine. Mako’s more then allowed to like Korra, but he should break up with Asami then. And Bolin, I keep waiting for them to give him some agency or development but he’s still being regulated to the one-liner comedy guy. I mean that’s what Sokka was until he got development so I’m waiting for the same to happen with Bolin. Maybe I’m just impatient.
Honestly no matter what they do, I have to admit I’m not really all that enthused as to where the characters are now. We have a one-hour finale left; that’s not enough time to do a ton of character development especially since it’s probably gonna be an action-oriented finale. And for me, personally, I’m left with a group of people that I legitimately wouldn’t think were very close except that the show keeps trying to tell me they are. We’ve barely seen any bonding moments between any of these characters that weren’t fighting in a ring, romance-oriented scenes/romance subtext scenes or scenes where someone needs saving so everyone works together. I don’t understand why they like each other as friends or even more in a lot of cases. There’s been some hints of awesome stuff but it always gets put on the back burner because of the main plot. Maybe I’m being too harsh but I feel like we barely know these characters separately so I dunno why I’m supposed to feel like they’re this close gang of friends out to save the world.
VT’s got it.
They’re not that close actually, despite how they’re trying to force it. The only people who actually KNOW each other in that little group are Mako and Bolin and they’re brothers, they came up together. That will be unbreakable.
Asami doesn’t really know Mako. They’ve been together for what? A few months, a few weeks? They’re a bunch of teens tossed together in a crazy situation and since we’re not actually seeing any development between anyone, this is one of those fragile things that’ll fall apart post series or hell, next episode.
I mean, since we’re just throwing shit together, I believe that Meelo is closer to Asami than anyone. The end. They had a very clandestine moment, “Can I have some of your hair?”
Has Mako ever asked for her hair? No. Meelo clearly loves her more.
It’s bad writing. Don’t feel bad for calling that shit out. They tossed this together for capitalization, not realizing that the fandom requires a little more to get on board.
I agree. I don’t understand why Korra and Mako like each other outside of the show going “BUT THEY DO THO SRSLY!” I can understand why Bolin and Korra are friends…don’t understand what Asami sees in Mako AT ALL. Understand what he sees in her…she’s rich as fuck and gorgeous and Mako has the personality of a hard leather shoe.
It’s really awful writing.
Bryan said they’re working on Book 2 of Legend of Korra. Just thought I’d throw that in there.
they need to quit while they’re behind
so far behind
